Allen Key sizes for Accucraft Caradoc

Post by laurence703 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 5:45 pm

Hey,
After a clean up today I found that one of my caradoc's fly cranks is loose . Any ideas on what size allen key is needed to tighten it up a bit?
Thanks

Surprised no-one has answered this.....

I don't have an Accucraft loco to give you the exact size, but it will be Metric. Accucraft use both M2 and M3 set screws, so it will be either a 0.9mm or a 1.5mm Allen key.

Any decent set of Allen keys will have a 1.5mm key in the set, but the 0.9mm are harder to find. Try your local r/c shop, as you won't find anything that small in Bunnings, or Mitre 10.

I think it's 1.5mm

It's not a 1.5mm... it is much smaller than that. I managed to get hold of one unintentionally but I have no idea of the size

A set of keys about the size you want don't cost much from a number of traders (National Show coming up). Get a set and you will find the one you want. The rest won't go to waste in your workshop/hobby room.

 I didn't. We will see some Aussies there but I accept it is a long way to come for one allen key.

I bought a set of Allen keys in small sizes, had to go to Ebay and buy from a seller in Hong Kong. I found the one that fits is .9 mm.
