Hello folks,
I've been having a play with a new loco that I'm building myself.
Well, I say myself but SWMBO seems quite keen too. Anyway, heres a few photos of our attempts.
Mainframes:
Chassis:
Motor arrangement:
Drive arrangement:
Im not sure about using plasticard for a chassis so the body will be completly and easily detachable from the chassis.
Bodyshell sides:
More bodyshell parts:
I'll post more when I get off my bottom and do some.

Looks Excellent, when I first started out i used anything and everything to make things.
Ali angle iron from b+Q works well
Used plasticard for a few things though, looks pleanty strong enough, if it isnt, you can always add second relief detail that doubles as a thickener for the frames

Provided you've used something like 60 thou Plasticard, you'll be all right - in earlier days, Saltford Models were made of nothing else!

Luckily I did use 60thou
Anyway I think I've created a monster.
Glued all the bits we cut out and fettled today.
Its a little tall but not offensively so.
Second Photo shows theres plenty of room for batteries, controls and sound card. I'm going to house the speaker between the mainframes in a box. Now I have the joy of the roof and painting ( as well as control desks and other stuff)
