Next year - possibly Berties again, possibly Millies, might even be 'Slip eccentric-Fest'...!

Yes, that's the downside of the Berties, Millies etc that they are 32 or 45mm gauge & not adjustable.
Maybe someone with a 45mm line could run a 'Fest' at the same time as the one at South Arbury? Surely that way we'd cater for both gauges?

Now, a 24hr event? I'm up for that! 24 hrs playing trains sounds great!
As Methssniffer points out, plenty of room for tents - it's food for thought!

Thanks must go to all those who attended, without them - there would've been no Bertie-Fest. I ws amazed that we got 20 Berties!!

Love the look of the blue tender loco with the red lining. Also I spotted one or two perryman tenders (the same tenders as River Alde has).

Looks great fun, the brown tender loco is lewis's one isn't it?

I think a "Billy" fest would be interesting. Everybody hates them, except for those who don't.

I tried to host one last year, but only one red tender-equipped Billy managed to make it. I should have advertised, but I reckoned there was no point since I live so far away, even from the rest of Canada.

We TRIED to...but the rain meant we had to scarper at about 11pm. Though I think a hardy few went back out after - I wisely went to bed [early June 11; DT was in the painthouse, SB was in its slumber and I'd just sold my Triang...]

I know down on the SDGRG we spoke about it once, but never had anything come of it.... probably due to the lack of 'Younger Persons' to do the 2-8am parts...

Im sure it be a challenge to keep a coal fired loco in steam for 24hrs and interesting to calculate the amount of coal and water consumed in that time

Years ago I was a member of the Brambleton Model Railway Club in Harpenden, and the end of each running season was marked by a 24 hour session.

Later, when I used to run at Hampton Loade on the SVR, we also did an annual 24 hour session for a few years.

This tender has rather alot in common with this one don't you think?

Paul Perryman builds them along side large quarry wagons, I bought mine at a low price as we agreed to take off the wheel sets at the show as it was 32mm gauge...
They arn't readily available but if you really really want one I'm sure you could get hold of him!
