How's this for a Garden Railway!

Post by SLRmidge » Sun Jun 06, 2010 4:04 pm

Visited the Heywood Railway today, a private 7 1/4" garden railway that opens once a year in aid of charity.
Wouldn't mind this going past my lounge window!

Very interesting! Am I right in thinking that the loco is based on the Thomas II design? She seems a little Twining-esque, particularly in the design of the tender...

Marvellous vid LMSjools.  It was a lovely, relaxing afternoon and I thought the quartet playing on the lawn gave an air of gentility, especially when they played the Fawlty Towers theme at some point. lol

Great photos, I'd seen a couple of the line, always wanted to see more.

A guy I know from around here built the engine, has got one for himself aswell, haven't seen it myself yet, but have been invited for a drive from what is apparently one of the most comfertable driver's chairs ever made.
