TANYGRISIAU

I rebuilt my Tanygrisiau station halt as I found the original to be too large although it was built to scale I have reduced the size by a third which is now better suited to the platform it sits on.

I have a timetable just need to reduce it and copy and laminate it.
The same for the station sign too. Thanks for your comments I do hate being called Sir though lol... I dont believe in these knighthoods.

I'm not sure how long the notice boards have been up, some years by the look of them! In fact I did'nt know there were any windows until I saw your stunning model  I would guess that the windows kept getting vandalised, going by all the shutters on the signal box

The windows were definately there last year when I was there but I bet it is vandals what a shame it was so characteristic with windows now it looks and is treated like a bus shelter. Shame on those vandals!

Tan-y-Grisiau could be a great location, there's a good size lever frame in the signal box. But it'd be expensive both to install and to keep running, and would get vadalised all the time. Allthough charcterless automatic trailable points are the way ahead.

Didnt they erect signal posts some time ago I recall a distant and home on the crossing side.

I was putting posters up there at least twice last year, the notice board at the Port end has quite a large bulge in it now!

The building at Dduallt has a window in the waiting room (where the posters are) not one pane of glass (I think it was plastic) remains now  and there is no road access there, must be very enthusiastic vandals

Do you think the station windows have gone there as well!!!!!!!

SillyBilly

Yes, the signal posts are still up at Tan-y-Grisiau I think, but the arms, and other un-erected bits were flogged to the Isle of Man Steam Railway some of which are now in use at Douglas I think.

Did you know...
The Dduallt Station window frames are ones from the long shed.

its just the bare window frame, all the broken panes were removed (this is the waiting room window) I'm up there sometime this week with new posters (Plas halt too) if you want any pics let me know :D What period are you modelling?
