Just some guys dragging around a full size loco.

This is pretty crazy, they lift the whole loco and track up off the ground with these little hovercraft things, and then they just push it around...
Miles-- Trains are fun. With the exception of track power. Argh!

That seems like an awful lot of trouble to move a loco around... Why don't they just do like we do and use the giant hand in the sky?

Jokes aside, it's an impressive operation and I wish my workshop floor was anywhere near that smooth and level. I'm curious about those devices; hovercraft used to be sort of a special interest for me but it's been a while since I've looked into them or their capabilities. We have some tremendously heavy machine rollers at work that people use for moving factory equipment and stuff, and I wonder how these hover things compare.
