What RC to replace aging 75mhz AM radio in Pearse Countess

The old radio gear in my Pearse Countess. I want to get away from the huge twin stick transmitters. I am looking at the small hand held offered by Chuffed 2 Bits and one from RCS. Any thoughts on these or any other options I do not know about? For those that do not know, the center position on the throttle servo is OFF with one direction being the whistle and the other being throttle. Mike

Totally agree with Tom - Deltang (or Spectrum as I think its known by some suppliers) works for me - quite a few suppliers out there - Peter at http://www.peterspoerermodelengineers.com has always been very helpful with me as I'm useless at electronics (well getting slightly better!) - better to give him a buzz and chat through what you want - always can offer you a number of solutions to suit your circumstances

Is the Deltang system a big twin stick radio? I want to get away from that old school set up and get a modern hand held transmitter. I will research it however. Thanks Mike

No - I think you can have a range of transmitters - have a look here on Peters site -

I have the most simple one for my diesels (the TX20 that is shown with direction being controlled both knob in the centre) but I know you can programme many more thing into the handset and especially the more advanced ones - i.e. sound cards can be controlled, inertia etc -

Rik on the forum is also a jedi at this type of thing so can probably advise as to the capabilities of these type of things

I opted for the RC Trains Tx that Rik on here started up:

Gives you a small handheld Tx that can control more than one loco using the 'Selecta' feature whereas with a Spektrum Tx you can control more than one loco but they will all move at the same time.
