b & m homestores Classic Steam Train Set

Don't know if anyone else has spotted these. I went into a B&M homestores yesterday for the first time and spotted what looks suspiciously like a 32mm gauge train set.



I didn't have a ruler (and couldn't find any for sale) so measured with an old receipt and worked it out at home.

Today I bought 2 train sets for £20, battery powered 0-6-0 chassis with working steam motion

Body comes off with 3 screws!



Our boys found it very exciting and chased it round the loop, I've test run the loco out doors and it ran well until it was derailed by weeds. Time to clean the track I think

Not sure what bodies they will get, but at that price I wasn't going to wait in case they stopped selling them!

Nice to see a cheap toy train set that is 32mm gauge.

20 quid for eight pairs of bogies and two powered chassis, not to shabby that.

Keeps us posted with what you do with them.

I got 2 sets too. The loco has a working headlight and sound (which is awful but I'm sure it can be disabled.

Bargain price, look forward to seeing what you do with it would scale up nicely with just a different chimney and larger cab
