Colour Matching - Green and Cream

Post by SpudUk » Sat Mar 29, 2014 10:29 pm

Hello Folks,

Try to find some aerosol paint that best matches the Accucraft Green and Cream colour scheme. Any ideas?

Might be worth a call to Accucraft themselves to see if they can give you any pointers.
Failing that try a decent paint factors or even halfords as they should be able to match the coach paint using a series of chips (paint swatches).
If you are matching using chips it is worth going out into daylight to do it as artificial lighting can play tricks with your colour vision.

Hi Jim,

I have spoken to Accucraft and they've pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks

Glad to be of service.
Just out of interest what are the colours that they use for the livery?
I don't have any of their stock but I have a soft spot for green & cream coaches and I have a few that could do with a repaint.

From their email:

"The green is GWR post 1923 locomotive green and the cream is GWR coach cream. Both are satin or dull on the coaching stock, rather than the gloss used on the locos. Our normal recommendations to people is to try the Phoenix Precision range of paints."
