After a small saga of having to deal with hospitals etc I'm pleased to say that I've now been able to sort out the Winter Photo Poll, which the entrants are as follows:

well done far better than my effort.
one thing I did notice, 41 votes cast but 380 odd people looked, they could have at least voted, doesn't take much

I totally agree with you Gremlin. Participation is part of being a member of this, or any other group, and in this case anonimity is included at no extra charge!!!
I did vote quite early on and I'm pleased to say my choice is winning... so far!

I believe phpBB (the software that powers this site) counts each time a person views a thread as a new view. I've looked at this thread probably 2 or 3 times (and voted!) and as a result I've created 2 or 3 views. So 380 views could be just 100 people. Still not everyone viewing - but a much smaller amount of non-participation.

Peter L is right, if someone views the thread multiple times each visit is a "view", of which about 20 of those are probably from me!
However, it seems philipy has won with a deserving photo! I shall send a PM soon.
Sorry about the slight delay in mentioning anything on here, I may have been a tad intoxicated yesterday evening...
