Dream Steam selling Mamod Locomotives

A very popular starting point for Live Steam. With their low cost comes a number of problems which can be discussed here

Dream Steam selling Mamod Locomotives

Post by Chris Cairns » Mon Oct 22, 2012 1:11 am

Recently I had seen a big Mamod logo on the Dream Steam website which was actually screwing up their web pages, but then it disappeared.

It is now back in a sensible size and they are selling 2 of the current Mamod locomotives.

Brunel, which they apparently sold out at the Exeter Garden Railway Show. They are saying RRP is £435 so selling it for £385 is saving you £50. However Mamod sell them direct at £385. Must be the spare part that is fitted which costs extra!!

Mark II which they are saying RRP is £349 so selling for £295 is saving you £54. Again Mamod & Forest Classics are selling these for £299.

Mamod obviously did not supply them with up to date photos, the Brunel one is the original model with the old sight glass, and the Mark II is the old Mamod micro size photo (try the zoom option!).

Alan Dunster, the original owner of Dream Steam, owned several Golden Jubilee & William locomotives, but he never produced any upgrades or enhancements for those locomotives. Be interesting to see if any now get produced for the Brunel or Mark II locos.

Interesting, also of note is a Renger loco with the MSS ones?
