For christs sakes Pete...why are you so sad as to carry on anything we argue over to such an extent as this! I think its pretty redicolus.

I did agree that if you were so worried about it and and i could have a tug of war between his Edrig and my Iver at STIA. I realy don't care which engine wins and i just hope you could grow up and not get petty over every single view someone has that isn't yours ;)

I am not sad, I wish I had saved the convosation on MSN Jim. I am doing this to see if I am wrong and if you are correct about a Iver being able to tow a Edrig in a "tug of war". I am meerly asking other peoples opinion here.

I would do, but Im not really into toys, so I dont go to STIA. Lets not make a argument here.

ITS JUST A POLL TO SEE WHO THINKS WHAT!!!!!!

I have a mamod, it pulls every wagon I own, 9 of them.

It doesn't even have upgraded cylinders.

So why do I need more power than that?

Here he showing that 8 is easy.

The traction gives up before the power does as he is only light.

Lighten up and stop having daft arguments.

Personally, my first non-mamod loco will be one that I can afford and whether that is a Janet, or a Roundhouse I don't mind.

No, sorry, but what I am trying to do here is see if I am correct or not about a Accucraft Edrig having more power than a Cheddar Iver. Not a Edrig having more power than a Mamod, or if I am just saying it because I have a Edrig, and not a Iver. I am asking other people's veiws, because I have seen a Iver in action, and I dont reckon it will have as much power/tractive effort as a Edrig...

We all know which engine woud win a tug of war....

If you're happy running a mamod Chris then it's up to you, sometimes I run mine, which like yours still has the standard cylinders, but they seal remarkbly well. I shall have to stage a tug of war between my Edrig and my friend's Lumber Jack before it goes home.

I know that mamods were not the argument. I was just trying to show that it is not important. If you like it, and it does what you want, then why does it matter if something else is more or less powerful.

Probably find the the heaviest one will win a tug of war as it will have more traction. Doesn't mean it has the most power though.

My advice, if you want to win a tug of war that bad, is to put a brick on your loco.

That's a point, would have to make sure both locos weigh the same before establishing a tug of war.

THIS IS NOT THE POINT!!!!

I opened a poll to see what is more powerful. Edrig or Iver. I want to know which!!! Because Jim said Iver is more powerful, I want to know wha others think! Please, just stay on the point!

Peter, we need to stick to our tradition of going off topic.

If you would rather I satayed on topic, i'll give my opinion! Which would win? In my opinion I think it would be.........

....... one of them! In all honesty I wouldnt know! I honestly have to agree with the guys, if its something you like, and it does what you want it to, who cares which is most powerful!?!

With you being so busy with work and building railways, we've had to teach ourselves how to do it, not that we weren't doing it before  .

I agree Graham! I have agreed that if Pete is so worked up and worried about this we could conduct a fair test but he still refuses to settle things sensibly and must make everything public in what i think is a very childish way!

Heres a Novel idea...

STOP ARUGING ABOUT IT FFS!!

Its all personal opinion and what you pokets can afford!

In my case i would love an edrig but see no point due to the fact that i have no permenant line and in hampshire there is no club luike GMES to run on!

I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE AN ARGUMENT AS I HAVE STATED BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!! READ THE POSTS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stated I wanted to know if Edrig had more power than a Iver. Not which is better! I have not USED the Iver so I don't know, hence why I want to find out from a bigger perspective than just one Iver owner, who inturn, has not used a Edrig. It is NOT a petty argument, its a POLL to vote which has more power.

In my opinion Jim, I think that is a load of Bullsh**. How are we ment to conduct a fair test. I have stated, I don't like playing with Toys so much to travel a couple of hundred miles to settle a ""argument"" about which is more powerful at a toy fair.

I DO WANT TO SETTLE THINGS SENSIBLY, HENCE WHY I AM DOING THIS. IT CANNOT BE DONE BY JUST ASSUMING 1 IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE OTHER, BECAUSE WE DON'T OWN THE OTHER ENGINE!!!!!! THEREFORE ASKING OTHERS OPINIONS WILL BRING OUT THE TRUE ANSWER.

100% of the votes are on Edrig, and not Iver, so it is settled.

END OF.
