Why don't model railway shops do what the late tom copper did at his shop up at Kendal?

Ours goes around the top of the shop, even better! Bay Models have got a loco shutuling up and down in one window & whilst on holiday in Somerset I noticed a shop with a 00 railway going around in the window (a travel agents from memory).

Yeah, I like shops that have working railways in them. Back in cumbria, the local village shop owner had a hornby starter set, which she'd set up in the shop window at christmas along with a model village dressed in fake show and miniture christmas decerations.
When I was about 4, and lived in Lancishire, I'd like to go to a toy show in Lancaster that had a LGB set working in the window. Sadly, the shop's now closed.

Which pub do you mean. I went to a pub at Haverthwaite once about 7 years ago. No trains, but there was plenty of stuff to do with ships.

Yeah we had to go there for the dragons birthday or something or other. I still had 3 fingers left from last year so agreed to go.

It's all very similar to the Wickham & Ivor kits, if you have a trawl through these you may find somthing of interest
www.gardenrails.myfreeforum.org/ftopic519-0.php www.gardenrails.myfreeforum.org/ftopic500-0.php . I did post some of my thoughts on G Scale Mad, not sure if they differ from these, obviously un-accesible due to the Change of server. If you want I shall write up a summary of my plans with this kit in the next week or so?
