The 14th Anniversary of the Longmead Branch (Sat 27th Aug)

Well what a day!! The weather was great, except for a few light showers at the start, but the sun came out and a wonderful day was had. It was nice to meet new people and to catch up with those that I havent seen for a while and It was also nice to see different Rolling Stock and Locomotives to what we usually see each month

The day started with a speech by Myself and then the first Train ran. a Champagne Toast was made to the railway and then it was time to play Trains and eat LOTS of food

So heres some pictures: (I tried to get a photo of most of the Locomotives and Stock that was around, but I was also busy chatting away and eating so I have probably missed some)

Even the local bus Company was advertising the event:

We had 2 'OGWEN's in our Company too, One belonging to Pete (Red) and the other to Dave (Black - this also suffered a bad fire which was extinguished with alot of water ) - you can see it looks very sooty.

The day ended with a Train being run, with the line being lit up using lots of sparklers. Fireworks closed the days celebrations. We then gathered indoors to eat some more food and have a couple of cups of Tea

Thanks to everyone that made the Day happen: to Terry the Host, Pauline and Hollie our catering Crew for keeping us all well fed, to Pete, Carolyn, Louisa, Dave, Barry and the others who I didnt catch their names.

And again to Terry for putting me up at very short notice after going home to find myself with no keys and Mum fast asleep upstairs, so I was well and truly locked out
