Budget buildings

Post by mhlr » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:15 am

If you visit this website: http://www.jacksonsminiatures.com/ and go to garden railway buildings, theres some great little kits for around £45, and if you want just the plans, they are £16-20 and come with the hinges etc! So I may have a go at their engine shed perhaps.

Interesting range of kits or plans, although £5 postage for the plans from both the above locations is a bit steep.

T&M models are resonably priced on the ebay. Im building one of there signal boxes now. They are a bit of a sod to put together though.

Yeah, I know, I'm building one of their halt kits funnily enough!

Very difficult, as its hard to put it together when the bits are still inside a bag!!! I will start on it soon, but looks OK IMHO. Just need to araldite the angled corners up to each other. But the halt is probably easier than the signal box...

That's odd, the garden rail review praised them no ends.

He prasied the ready built, not the kits. I wonder why? Lets face it the guy writing the review is mates with T&M and is being paid to write a good review. So he left the kits out the equation.

Has anyone bought a building (or anything else for that matter) from Lineside delights?

http://www.linesidedelights.co.uk/useri ... ocart3.htm

Wondering on what to get out of a small hut from them or one from T&M on ebay.

I've bought numerous small stuff from Lineside, a VERY good service, most recommended. I have made a T&M kit, a little tricky to make, but I have heard Lineside's buildings are good.
