Bloody brilliant, Chris! Think I'll have to pinch that plank step tray method, it's ubiquitous down here.

Definitely have a soft spot for those front bogey/rear single wheelset railmotor conversions. Most railmotors built in Queensland (usually AEC truck conversions) were done this way.

Thanks for the positive remarks re the Ford railmotor . It was also received well by a couple of visitors from the Hoffnant and Login railways whose locos paid a visit this week.

The Pickup rounding the curve . It runs quite well on 3 AAA batteries. The wiring is very basic at the moment, but before spending more on it ,I would like to find a better motor gearbox assembly. As I had to glue the top hat bearings in place . If only there was a fold up brass etch like what is used in 7mm scale models. The next project is under way.

That Rheidol carriage looks nice, but I'm a sucker for pass cars with full length running boards. So typically narrow gauge.

No Trains today ! Had about nine inches of the white stuff by looking at the tops of the telegraph poles.

The weather has changed with warmer temperatures resulting in a rapid thaw . The heavy snow fall was due to a local weather phenomenon known as the Pembrokeshire Dangler combining with northern winds.

The railway seems to have survived without incident. Weather forecast for Sunday is back to normal, heavy rain and gales!

Chris,

I had not heard of the Pembrokeshire Dangler before a few days ago when I saw mention of it on the BBC news site. I’m glad to live in Ceredigion!,

Yep, me too! I saw it on a weather round-up on the Beeb site earlier in the week. I've mentioned it to one or two other people who had never heard of it either.
Is it an actual Welsh idiom or is it something the Beeb have dreamed up?

Pembrokeshire Dangler is quite genuine and is frequently mentioned by one of our model group members who lives near St Clears, Pembrokeshire border area.

Ceredigion is also affected by the Dangler as is parts of Devon and Cornwall. The weather pattern runs down the Irish Sea .
Did you not get any snow ?

Chris,

no snow here this winter yet, the coldest we have seen is a single day of heavy frost. It’s quite mild by the sea on this side of the peninsula,

Didn't get any snow here either. Just a load of hail, which piled up with each new shower and refused to melt.

Thankfully a lot more manageable, than the meteor shower suffered by a line here in QLD, a few weeks back. :?
