Potholes

Post by jim@NAL » Fri Sep 05, 2025 10:03 pm

So I did something a little silly earlier this year and it got a little out of hand.
In our village there are a lot of potholes on the road so one Sunday me the wife and kids made some legs and put in a pothole.
With in a few hours a few people from the village messaged me asking was it me.
What I wasn't expecting on Monday morning to have the bbc ringing me then over that week I had phone calls messages from the USA Canada and Spain. I did radio interviews for radio stations in several different countries.all from the result of a silly prank

Love it Jim, brilliant idea. You seem to have gained a reputation in the village.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

Years ago a lady in my town sat on a chair in a big pothole knitting, to protest the council's lack of pothole maintenance but that takes the cake.
Big question though have the potholes been fixed ?
If so the end justified the means.

Excellent! Just goes to show that there is more than one way to draw attention to an issue and get things done ....

Love it Jim, think I found a news article about that. What a humorous way to call attention to an issue for local government. Better than just griping about it, that's for sure!
