Sadly not in steam because they only steam her for weekends, bank hols and school hols. The other one is out of service whilst they try to raise £5K for a new boiler - they are about halfway on that.

Re: where am I?
Peter is close...it's a Garratt, but Rik is spot on, hole in one. Well done indeed.

Well done Rik, I stood no hope on that one as I have no knowledge of miniature lines, but I know you do!

Re: where am I?
It was a lucky guess. Thanks to Zach, I was treated to a cab ride in that loco - though I'm not sure that helped me identify it from the photo

I don’t think I am going to be able to disguise this from any of you by any means other than heavy cropping, but… snapped this afternoon: where?

Neither correct, I’m afraid.
Here’s this morning’s. Not the same railway as the previous one.

The railway or the loco? Not that you’d be wrong in either case, just being careful not to confirm something you hadn’t guessed
Not correct, but considerably warmer…I have another guess at the first one, was it at WHHR?

Yes, I should've been more specific, Talyllyn at Talyllyn. (The question was where, right?)SimonWood wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2024 10:32 pmThe railway or the loco? Not that you’d be wrong in either case, just being careful not to confirm something you hadn’t guessed

I'm out of guesses on the other one... Seems a bit american-ish but aside from that I'm stumped. We're leaving on a little trip of our own today, more on that later.

Correct and correct. I know we’ve had the railway more than once already, but I don’t think anyone had posted No. 1.drewzero1 wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2024 2:51 am Yes, I should've been more specific, Talyllyn at Talyllyn. (The question was where, right?)![]()

Re: where am I?
Don't want to be a spoilsport or anything
But isn't this for anything other than railway related, like music, sport and such like...Just saying.....
Looking at the photos though, unless it's got a view of a station or something like that, I wouldn't have a clue looking at loco wheels and valves and things that are particular to a loco.
I'am thick I know.

I did recognise the photo of Caernarfon with the Garratt, we saw it last year there, beautiful loco. We also saw a Black 5 there too, it was massive...

No, not really Rod.FWLR wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 8:23 am Don't want to be a spoilsport or anythingBut isn't this for anything other than railway related, like music, sport and such like.
Certainly those things are specifically included for clarification, but they are not exclusive. Because the forum is aimed at Garden Railway modelling, a light hearted real railway quiz, is definitely " Off topic" since it has nothing to do with model making.

Re: where am I?
Your'e correct Phillip and I agree about the little quiz, but you haven't put my other write up and it makes it look like I am against it, which I'am not.
Anyway guys, please put some photos up of stations or signs or something to that effect, at least then I would have some idea and get the question right....Maybe..

I misread what you wrote Rod, and thought you said "station signs" rather than "stations or signs". I thought, that would make it a bit easyFWLR wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 9:06 am Anyway guys, please put some photos up of stations or signs or something to that effect, at least then I would have some idea and get the question right....Maybe..![]()

Re: where am I?
Oh heck Simon I haven’t got a clue

There are signs on the stations
and other stuff aren’t the. Post boxes, phone boxes. Static stuff like porters carts, stationer's etc etc ….. I probably wouldn’t know where they are or what they were required for, but I would have a go, it would be a laugh
anyway for you guys when I get something completely wrong.
Can’t wait to get it wrong Simon..
