Does your Garden Railway have a ficticious history?

Anything related to the garden railway world that is not catered for in another board

And of course, they have built a railway now where the plinth was!

Mine was a built by a chap who didn't know much about garden railways and the importance of making sure its level and made many mistakes.

interestingly the real history is quite similar!

Quite right too! But is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking - namely that, given the strong connections of the England engines with the Welsh Highland, it would be good to lend her to Gelert's Farm? There she could be seen by everyone and still kept under cover...

It has been suggested in the past given that it's currently in blue, I think however it would be best not think about the current situation between the two railways, as it's far from perfect, I have my views and I know where to keep them.

............ and if you go to:
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/mdltrly/history.html

you can read mine! As the MDLR has been around (as a concept) for many years, it's "developed" from the initial idea - anybody who saw the piece on the Railway on the Railway Channel's 2006 Annual will know that I can witter on about it for HOURS!

Mine does have some history behind the name.

The Grockle Garden Railway is a holiday line for visiting loco's. Grockle is West Country slang for a holiday maker and as quite a few friends of mine live out of the local area, namely 200 plus miles away when they do come to stay for a few days they are know as ''Grockles''. The rest of the name is self explanatary as it is a railway in the back garden of my house.

As I don't care to model any particular area or time frame almost anything is allowed to run on the GGR but I do draw the line and will not allow any Southern Region muck to run on the rails of the GGR.

Even continental loco's are allowed because I have just purchased for myself a Union Pacific Big Boy No 4013. Wheel confirguration is 4-8-8-4 with a seven axle tender for good measure. The total length of the loco is 18 inches long but at present due to the weather I have been unable to give it a run around the garden.

Haven't taken one of it yet, the Big Boy that is. Anyway it will be small compared to yours as I model in 00 gauge althought the Big Boy is H0 gauge
