Heritage display at National Garden show Peterborough
Hi, I never got the March edition of 16mm today magazine for some reason, does anyone know the format for displaying heritage locos at the show? It always seem to be a done deal once the doors are opened, I was wondering if its all organised before?
John.

The one and only show I have been to was in 2014 and the Heritage display was stunning and one of my favorite parts of the show. Obviously i'm biased because I brought my IP Jane in the Heritage Auction with the aid of much guidance from Derek Wiggins, a first class heritage manager for my money who served us very well.
I consider it a major mistake to have no heritage section. The history of this association is a major factor in what it is today and today's models owe a great deal to their forerunners.
How did the board manage to lose a much needed and appreciated person such as Derek I wonder ?

It's not a case of its never going to happen again. It will happen again and I'm hoping it will happen again for next year however with all these things it needs someone to organise it.
Especially next year it being the 40th anniversary of the 16mm association but I don't think it needs to happen every year as it can get repetitive.
There is also no Help and Advice this year as the talks didn't get much of an audience so we've given it a rest for this year but again, its something that I want for next year.
It's not necessarily a mistake, I made the decision to not have it this year based on the fact that we don't have the resources at present to pull it off and do it Justice... Derek left a rather large pair of shoes.
