rail suitable for lartigue monorail

Post by cncmodeller » Mon Dec 08, 2014 8:22 pm

Hi, this is a bit obscure I know, has anyone come across any rail that would be suitable for the top running rail for a 16mm model of the lartigue style 'a' frame rail? The spec is 100mm double headed bullhead rail which at scale is 5.25mm high. Now I'm looking for rail where the top and bottom appear the same, I know years ago one could buy bullhead rail which was unrealistic but had this feature. I'm trying to get it to look accurate as well as functional.

Thanks

John

You could check with Marc Horovitz, the Editor of the US Garden Railways magazine, who I believe, built a lartigue style line for himself in the same scale.

That is good advice. There is some info on Marc's loco and line here http://www.sidestreet.info/locos/loco96.html/ and here http://illianaroad.com/garden-railway-f ... bute-line/

Iguana looks as good in real life as it does in the photos!
