RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway

I thought it was about time I started work on the station.  I like buildings in this scale to be made out of 'real world' materials so when I had a new window recently installed in the garage the pieces of cut out marine ply were used to make the basic frame for the station building:




I intend to clad the building in timber and my builder reckons we can make a slate roof using off-cuts he get's from work.

Also, the nasty kink I had in one of the loop's has been sorted with the new smaller radius Peco point (thank you Peco!):



I can now if I want let my SL run without having to adjust the regulator so all that hard work in using the screws to create a level track has paid off

Thanks for all your comments. Certainly gave me a kick up the backside to sort out one of the loops which has always had a tight spot which locos would slow down or stall on.

Home made buildings and natural weathering is the way to go for realism.

The lamp hut is just a piece of wood with bake bean cans cut and nailed on with OO track pins.

The junk yard came about from all bits of failed projects or off cuts of wood/metal.  Why throw them away when you can use these pieces as scenery

Summer is great, alas it seems to be on the way out now.

Here is the dodgy loop sorted.  The Peco 605 curves are still tight, however, you have to work in the space given:




I have learned rather than spending ages sorting out the ballast between the track and sleepers you just dump it on the track and let the rain arrange it

Ahhhhhhh.

Being a softy and also knowing the temperamental nature and pent up aggression levels of our cat Fatty. That would stop me running trains!
