I'm thinking about fitting a charging socket to my IP Jessie and have the socket fitted in the cab. I'd like the socket to break the circuit and just charge the battery without having to remember to switch the loco off first.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this? Also what would be the best plug / socket to use?
Charging socket circuit diagram for battery loco?

Depends on the socket type. I know I'm a newbie here but I'm also a radio ham and electronics enthusiast. A method I use for rechargeables, is to make the on/off switch a changeover, so that in the "off" position it connects the battery to the charger socket, and disconnects the battery from the rest of the circuitry.

The other option might be to use a jack plug and socket, with a make and break contact on the socket, but I'm never 100% convinced that the break happens independantly enough to avoid accidents.
