It will be a VERY good idea to cover the floor with thin ply - makes it mich easier to see (and pick up) bits when you drop them on the floor, and there'll be no chance of losing that vital little bit down a crack in the floor (like I do - the biggest crack runs across my shed floor just at the front edge of the bench, where everything falls off.........)

Already on to that one, the ply is leaning up against the wall ready to put down over some laminate underlay.

Double gazed units fitted yesterday and luxury carpets went in tonight.
I went on the scrounge to the local Carpetright for some dog ends of lino only to be disappointed. However I was given a large amount of carpet sample that were heading for the bin!
Some of this stuff is 35 quid a square yard!!!!!!
The current wife is most cheesed off that there is better carpet in the shed than in the house.

I have been to Jim's shed and feel confident that there are no 50ft tall pedestrians with the ability to see into Jim's shed from road level..... in fact, there are no pedestrians at all as there is no footway.
Still, I know we must all be cautious and not advertise our collections to 'undesirables'

Shutters will be going up and the shed has a very good locking system on it. I don't know if obvious CCTV is a good idea as I does advertise the fact that there is something of value in the shed. In fact a mate with a storage yard in Swansea has found that if the cameras are obvious then the local feral yobs go through the fence with the faces covered!

The garden is pretty secure as it is and natural hazards (step slopes, large holes and evil brambles surround it.
