Re: eBay madness
Seen this also today at £95.70 plus postage of £14.97 = £110.67 which isn’t that bad, nice looking bridge though
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRIDGE-LGB-A ... 0752.m1982
But at 600mm long it makes mine at just under 1200mm the bargain of the year for me at £20………….And I maybe basis…..I think mine is better……….

Size isn't everything you know.

Re: eBay madness
On the other hand. Some bargains do turn up.
I have just acquired a normally expensive item that was listed incorrectly for a very modest sum.
The sellers were most annoyed but at least they did dispatch it without too much arguing.
I won a myford 7 lathe a few years ago that was complete with an awful lot of accessories. It had been listed as "My Ford Lath" and the starting bid was £100, no one else bidded on it (I only found it by accident as I was looking for an anglepoise lamp and it had one attached and mentioned in the description).
The seller was most put out by the low bid and when I pressed them the reply I got went along the lines of " well we might not be home when you come and get it...."
So I didn't bother.

Re: eBay madness
I was tempted, but it was a few hundred miles away and a would not have put it past them to give it a good belt or stuff a load of swarf in the workings.

Re: eBay madness
If I was to be charitable I would say they were Ill informed and unrealistic about the nature of auctions and disappointed at the outcome. Possibly there was a serious need for a large cash injection, hence the reluctance to go through with the sale.
On the other hand they may have just been a Wally.

Re: eBay madness
Amazing how some paint makes it cost significantly more than a new one!

Re: eBay madness
I'd guess he is trying to recoup at least some of the money he laid out to have it weathered. Not criticising the paint job, it looks very good, but how anyone can describe the loco as being immaculate when it looks like that, is also beyond metom_tom_go wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 10:03 am Amazing how some paint makes it cost significantly more than a new one!
