Another little loco for the FBGR, this time a Ruston 10hp.

Not based on any one particular prototype, but over 100 of this class was produced between 1931 until 1937, and several changes were made to the bonnet details during this period.

I had hoped to be able to get four AA or AAA size batteries in, but had to set the motor vertically to get it within the bonnet shape, so ended up with a PP9.

First the Chassis – all plastic of course, and then some naked (unpainted) pics. Now some painted pics: Now a couple of pics taken at its first operating session over the Easter hols.

The loco went along quite nicely at half throttle in this afternoon’s sunshine.

The tractor type seat is from Cambrian Models (item NA25). Its not quite the right shape – should be rounder. I have tried to make one myself in the past, but don’t have the skills / equipment.

That is absolutely amazing work! Is the little electronics package
a combined receiver and esc? or just an esc?

The card is a Deltang Rx60-22W which is described as “16V 4 Channel Receiver with Bi-Directional ESC”.

I bought this (with two others and a Tx22 Controller) about a year ago, and I now notice that the Rx60 has been replaced on DelTang’s Website with the Rx61 which now has five channels – see http://www.deltang.co.uk/rx61c-22-v611.htm for details of connections other than just for the motor.

The first buildings are now looking a bit sad and could do with a repaint, funny how some colours last longer than others – A job for next year.

I have still been working in the area, and even this year have added some bits in front of the arches.
