I certainly hope 2015 will be a pivotal year for the Soar Valley Light. I wish everyone else starting out or in the early stages of railway pioneering success in the coming year too.

To those with established railways or locomotive, carriage and wagon manufacturies I wish successful and rewarding construction projects to inspire the rest of us with!

Whatever you're up to - Happy 2015! Cheers :occasion5:

Happy New Year colleagues! Hello everyone from Moscow. We now have a lot of snow. In the afternoon go ride a fatbike. I do not like skiing.

Just watched the fireworks from London and well impressed by the spectacle.... they can burn money even faster than me!!!
But..... (and I'm sure I said this last year too) what is going on with the musical background? It had no timing with the display and was a distraction!
Pity as it is a once a year occasion to make a statement and I fear it missed the point.

Happy New Year everyone. Just heard the racket on the radio from Glasgow (Scotland), so I guess it must be official now.

We have 4" of snow in Arizona and are expecting 4" more! No trains today. Might do a bit of wagon building later. I have given up in disgust on trying to do anything about a new access to the loft - every time I shoved a stud detector up there I found another stud.

Time for a glass of port and the Flagstad recording of the Wesendonck Leider, methinks!

Cheers,
Peter in AZ
Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.

Having just checked my thread from last year's firework display I can confirm my criticism at the time. I doubt the BBC are reading this Forum and must be missing out! We could improve TV presentation and justify the licence fee if given the opportunity!

Now if they had used background music by Wagner that would have been a dramatic display!

Happy New Year to everyone.
We are in Goa atm and our medium sized hotel put on a fantastic firework dispay last night with the band just playing Auld Lang Syne quietly in the background. Brilliant!

As to celebrations.
I can't beat Goa.
As a confirmed miserable old dear I was in bed, well kipped out by midnight.
