Quite like it in red. Thought I was seeing things. 1 minute i'm browsing n its green, then when i pen another thread its turned red!

why does it always change when im on here? although correct me if im wrong but dont they paint nameplates black when the person is dead? did th forum die?

erm, not that I know of, the plates on my Lady Anne are black so why shouldn't the forum logo.

Lots of worksplates are black, some Hunslet ones, the ones of the smokeboxes of the FfR Fairlies, to name a couple.

They normally paint the workplates a contrasting colour to the loco, so a red loco might often have black works plates etc.
