I purchased a copy of this book, I must say it is a beautifully illustrated and very well produced book. I've just leafed through and the quality of the step by step 3D views and comprehensive working drawings are superb.

I'm not plannin gon building the loco directly but some of the advice given in the book will be used in my own projects. It's a great reference and will definately one book that I turn to again and again! I'd recommend it to anyone thinking of building a loco, or anyone wanting to get more of an understanding of the workings and techniques used in building a little 16mm loco.

I've started building it too, just the cab at the moment but not for me, someone wanted to buy the parts! I think i'll draw up the valve gear and modify the frames for fitment of Roundhouse cylinders though as I don't have the time or inclination to make all of the bits!

About 12 sleepless nights less than making them yourself! Drilling those angled steam ways in the valve chests seems like a sure way to break a drill and wind up with a very well finished paperweight! :D

I also have the book and hopefully will start construction sometime after Christmas.

I am a member of another group whose members include Brian Wilson, there are a number of people building this loco and they have found one or two dimension mistakes in the book.
