I have been building a line in a school to encourage creativity.

My ten year old boy and I have built it. Its been a very hard thing to do. But I have been getting the school kids to mix cement and build rolling stock. See Garden Rail mag.Atlantic publishing. Point of it is they all can't be computer games programmers as most want to be. So I have been trying to strike a balance and get them to think engineering. Also making things or worth builds confidence.

If only it was like that when I was at school!
I hated every minute.... there was only sport (is football really a sport?) and 'Masters' in caps and gowns with canes to 'encourage' pupils to learn just enough before they went to sleep!
This is a breath of fresh air in the education system and should be applauded.... well done.

I saw the article in Garden Rail. It´s an excellent idea and I hope it catches on, since learning to do new and possibly exciting things in a team is what learning is all about. The amount of Health & Safety requirements seems to have grown a little since my day, but as long as it doesn´t prevent trains from running, then fine.

Thought it best for security reasons to have no footage. Anyway all is well with the project. I'm kinda making it happen regardless of the obsticles that come about. It would be easy to faulter and give up but the kids love it and the Head is a wonderful person so full steam ahead.

I thought it would have been for some reason like that Lloyd.

Currently do not subscribe to Garden Rail (got far too many magazines already, trying to cut back) and I guess I've missed that issue in WH Smith now.

Good luck with your project's future developments.

Thanks Chris. Look forward to your Telford review. I do hope she's a cracker. Cheers!
