Yesterday saw a visit of me, laurence703 and lukejpetch at Brambleton which ensued much chaos!

A triple header mamod train was seen, comprising of Britomart, Ofario and Hampton.

A good send off for Britomart, as my challenge for last year was to see if it would still move under it's own power in 2014, and as that has been done (with 40 hours running time last year with at least 4kg on the drawbar) it's time to slowly retire the poor thing! And with Britomart's gradual retirement, it allows for other frontline motive power to return...

Yes great pictures, I like the angles you try to shoot from, makes the trains look like they should. That looks like a great place to have a steam-up.

Is that Miley Cyrus injecting Meths on the right? The tongue looks right, possibly the meths, never had Miley down as a Mamodologist though...

Looks like great fun, must dig out my Mamod sometime...

Cheers,

Andrew

Wow, looks like great fun, whats the basic track layout? Looks quite extensive.

It's a large layout. Works out about 6 or 7 different ways of sending your train... I'll draw up a track diagram later

I have always thought that having more locomotives hauling a train then needed is something of a frivolous activity that is a waste of time and money. I also find the sight of driver Laurence quite obviously playing the fool whilst in charge of a locomotive extremely disturbing.

I think a pre-arranged footplate ride on Britomart on the heaviest train it is permitted to haul needs to be sorted out for you...

It was a cracking day a running trains! Members of the West Herts. Area Group run the 16mm lines and the Brambles run the O gauge lines - having started off as a boy's club some years ago!

More information about WHAG meetings at the site can be found on our website; http://www.westherts16mm.org.uk and information about the site can be found on the BRMC page; http://www.brambleton.co.uk

Do come along and visit us if you fancy it, we are a friendly bunch! Drop me a message if you're planning on attending a future meeting :-)

Cheers,
Luke
