The Great GRF Photo Competition - Spring 2014 Entries

Post by DolwyddelanLightRail » Wed Jan 15, 2014 10:48 am

First offs, I have to apologise for the lateness of getting this off the ground, I've had to prioritise time with regards to Uni-work which I had a backlog of due to breaking my jaw earlier to December!

Well done to Philipy who managed to win with his excellent entry in the December 2013 Season, who has chosen the Theme for Spring of:

"Spring Cleaning"

This should have enough scope to let people get some snaps of their railway coming out of winter hibernation! :)

The deadline for entries was 6pm March 16th

A quick reminder of the rules:

- 1 Entry per user, but you can change your entry once entered if you so wish.
- The winning entry allows the user to choose next seasons theme, and is barred from entering the theme chosen to make things fair
- The use of Photoscape/Photoshop photo enhancemant levels and additions (such as  additions of creative layers to age the photo for example) are not allowed
- Basic cropping/alignment are allowed
- The photo entered (whether it wins or not) cannot be used again

Good Luck! :D

What you call "Spring" doesn't happen here until May. People are driving their cars on the surface of the frozen lake here right now. I can look out my window and see the "ice road truckers" setting off.

Yes, here as well, "snow cleaning" would be a better theme at this time of the year. :)

True, and it just shows that such themes will limit the participation.
The Aussies here are far from spring as well. :)

As we seem to be lacking a massive amount of entries this season, the deadline has been extended to 6pm Saturday 15th March, so whilst the weather is decent get out there and get some photos! :)

The DVLR team take to the task of clearing the permanent way after a lapse in maintenance over the winter. Rene is busy with the bonfire in the background whilst a cherry tree is showing off in the extreme foreground - spring has arrived in the Deben Valley.
