just seen the above youtube video. I m just buying San old minor 1 for use at the top of a hill on a rope haul wagon way but having seen this I have to find another!  Wondering what sort of gearing to use on it. I only want very slow. Thanks

Just jib bearish really. Cant turn spellchecker off. Basically I wanted to know what gearing to use on a single cylinder minor 1 or similar using Mamod loco wheels. To go very slowly. I ll probably use gears rather than chain as it might be more reliable. Ta.

About 6 to 1 seems to be the norm but if you are after very slow then 8 to 1 should do it.

Thank you very much. Found a whole fleet of nice Mamods for sale on the Stationary Engine forum and plenty on fleabay.

Now the gears. I ve been looking but no idea where to buy them. Nothing I know to be suitable. Hope to have one running by Christmas.
