I think you will agree this is a fine model of WDLR Simplex recently released from Slaters. The No. 1 supplier in 16mm prototypes

That's gorgeous, but a fair bit pricier than mine was. I wonder is there room for any batteries?

Not for 12 volts' worth, anyway...

Here's mine (Saltford Models "kit" on Cambrian chassis), the very first loco to run on the current EHLR.

I did get as far as drawing up plans for building a second one and starting to collect bits. I reckoned, IIRC, that there was just about room, if you forgot about engine detailing, for motor and RC under the bonnet with 4x AAAs under the end platforms. One for another day, when I'm feeling braver/stupider.

The radiator cap is available as part of an "upgrade" kit.

Blimey... So you have to pay even more !... Its a lovely thing but only for the better healed I fear. Makes you realise what good value you get from the likes of IP Engineering.

The 3d cad drawing is impressive though I wonder if a 3d printer could cope with that amount of detail!

It probably could! Having seen the detail on that Quarry Hunslet that was 3D printed... Certainly be easier to build!

I think it would be more a case of 'could there be a 3D printer with a high enough resolution to print that detail?!'
