Hello,
New to the forum, 1st post.
I'm looking at putting 2.4GHz radio into a battery-powered Accucraft 'Earl'. If anyone has done this I'd appreciate some advice on antenna type & position.
Thank-you

Welcome to the forum!
Can't say I've done it, but I would solder the receiver onto the chassis or footplate as you then only have a tiny amount of wire needed and a massive flat aerial. You will also need a speed controller to match your motor so that the radio will communicate with it. If you need any help drop me a pm

Hi NGgrandad, welcome aboard!
2,4Ghz is nothing like the old 27mhz and 40mhz radios of yesterday. The ariel is only about an inch'ish long and will fit anywhere. DO NOT solder it to anything. That is old school radio control.
You can even put it inside metal live steamers and it will still work fine. I fit these units commercially as part of the Houston Gate Locomotive Work

There is plenty of good advice around, but if you want anything specific send me a personal message. Advice is free.
