BA spanner set - Who sells abroad?

Post by KjellAn » Wed Feb 27, 2013 4:32 pm

I'm looking for a small set of 6 BA-spanners: BA 0-2 / 1-3 / 4-6 / 5-7 / 8-10 / 9-11.
Several dealers in UK sells these through web-shops, but it is difficult to find one who will sell abroad to Norway.
The BA-standard is not so common in Norway - cause we're using most metric cizes.

Anyone here who can recommend a web-shop that will send outside UK and to Norway?

Thanks for the quick response. The spanners are already on their way to my mailbox. :D

I assume you want them for hex head BA screws and BA nuts? I use a set of metric nut runners most of the time, as they are easier to use than spanners in confined spaces.

The BA standard isn't an ISO metric thread, but you will find the hex heads are metric across the flats and have been for years, as BA size hex rod in inch sizes is pretty much out of production.

The commonly used BA sizes in our size of model and their metric hex sizes are:-

6BA - 5mm
8BA - 4mm
10BA - 3mm
12BA - 2.5mm

If you use the reduced head size BA screws for better appearance on models, the BA hex sizes used are:-

6BA (7BA head) - 4.5mm
8BA (9BA head) - 3.5mm
10BA (12BA head) - 2.5mm

Regards,
Graeme

ps. I bought my metric nut runners here in Aust., but they can be purchased online. Trackshack list some similar to the ones I use.
