New Coal Fired Lawley

The New Herrington Light Railway (alias MVL Bridges) is proud to announce the arrival of Accucraft 'Lawley' Class BR No 68369 fresh from the workshops of DJB Model Engineering. Its conversion to coal firing and repainting in gloss black (not without its headaches) has been expertly completed by Paul Bailey. Lining in BR Mixed Traffic was completed by Geoff Munday at Lightlines.
Apparently the NHLR was a largely unknown light railway in the North East which was absorbed by the LNER and later BR. The loco was built in 1921 and first appeared in green livery and later in BR black. It was designated Class J61/3 and received the number 68369. Sadly it seems very difficult to find any records of the loco - can't understand why !?*
The loco ran like a dream yesterday, so smooth. Just thought I'd share it. People are getting suspicious about my cheezy grin!
Many thanks and respect for the work of both Paul and Geoff.
Best wishes
