PPS De Winton Review & Instructions

Post by Chris Cairns » Thu May 24, 2012 9:48 pm

Some time ago I obtained the prototype PPS De Winton.

Whilst it sort of works it is a long term workshop project.

Keith Brown did a review of this model, and indeed owned this prototype at one point. Unfortunately I have failed to contact him - he seems to open and close garden railways on a regular basis and did not reply to my enquiry on the 16mmNGM Yahoo group. His current railway is the Chibanxi Garden Railway but currently has no contact details.

Does anyone have a copy of this review (which was previously available online) or know which issue of Garden Rail magazine it was in (there used to be a good index to Garden Rail magazine online but I never kept a copy)?

I know that a few Forum members have or had a PPS De Winton. Does someone have a copy of the instructions that PPS issued (I assume they must have included something)? And was the De Winton fitted with a circular ceramic gas burner, as my prototype is fitted with the PPS rectangular metal burner which has difficulty keeping up pressure despite changing the jet to a more appropriate size?

Thank You.

Chris Cairns.
