I really don't think that comment was needed.

I know how upset Greg was of this and it has upset me grossly as you can see I think a telephone call personally to Greg would be most appropriate other than some rebounding remark over a forum

I really like the track with real wooden sleepers. I have decided after looking at this that when I get a garden I will have to do the same thing. It's quite a good effect.

The next step is to soak them in wood presevative you can get oak coloured then ballast. I do think timber sleepers are best the white metal chairs are 3 bolt and the rail is peco each chair takes two brass pins a lot of work but effective. Wood doesnt last for ever so be prepared to resleeper some years ahead as i am doing now. Drop us a mail if you need advise

It was the chore of re-sleepering that eventually led me to relay in Peco - shame I never ran on it.....................

It is a chore Brian Peco does have the advantage in terms of less maintenance in the long term but timber does look better I think though I am making work of it will see. Are you not tempted to rebuild again.

Most certainly NOT! I said (after the last-but-one time) that if it happened again, |'d give up............ and I have. I can still run at Butterley and at meetings throughout the year, and that'll do me.

Its such a shame that ones enjoyment can be taken away by some mindless thug. If you ever change your mind and you were looking for volunteers Id be the first to raise my hand. As for security Id be the first one in waiting to catch him.

Thanks for that. There were many similar and very kind offers from local members when it happened, but I've just lost heart and see absolutely no point in putting it all down again, only for them to come and wreck it again.

I had a similar situation with a car it got stolen was stripped out and found in Charnwood Forest I got it home rebuilt it, for it to be stolen again. It was found in Manchester got it back with the addition of a sunroof. Kept it for another year until it got stolen again and never seen it since. So if anyone knows of a Ford Escort RS2000 reg. CAD 26T dont tell me I dont want it back.
For your railway to be destroyed again by the same person it is likely, it is the same person he will be a lot older, may have moved away or may have lost interest.
As you said in your talk get out in the garden and enjoy running trains
