Mamod points

Post by laalratty » Wed Jul 23, 2008 8:51 pm

I am thinking about getting a set of mamod points for my slate quarry area, I have a couple of questions though
1. Are they of good enough quality to be able to propel a train of cooper craft slate wagons through without derailing?
2. How do you join mamod track to peco sm32?
3. Has anyone got a good left hand mamod point they would like to sell me?
Hope someone can help
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

      ALERT ALERT! Do not try and propel ANYTHING! round a mamod curve point or whatnot. I had a line using all mamod track and we had cooper craft and big big wagns as well as mamod and it was impossible to propel anything more than a few feet without it coming off.

This is true, its mostly down to the way that the track is joined (sleeper, not rail).

Its also just the radius's and the problems with buffer lock as well, evn with those coopercraft plate buffers.
