Thought we'd go for an easier one this time. Where is this?

Galltymoelfre tramway is close enough for me. Not actually my photo, but one sent to me back in the days when I ran the TR web site. Here's the other one from the same collection. I think you're right that it's near the top end of the tramway.

I think, in fairness, we ought really to let Sir Haydn pick the next one as he essentially had it right, and it's probably someone else's turn?

Agreed. I'm on me phone so can't really do anything too devious. C'mon Sir Haydn.

OK - here goes! Which narrow gauge railway has a station named after a pub? (sir haydn, you're NOT allowed to answer this one!)

Ah. An interest of mine, unfortunately.

D*mn: Three Cocks, Chocolate Poodle, Blue Pigeons and the Trouble House are all SG.

Can I open the bidding with Seven Stars, New Inn, Queens Head, Pilot, Spa Hotel, Jolly Bacchus, Great Northern Hotel, Fleece Inn, Newlands Inn [1]?

It must be one of them - so in order for someone else to come in, I think we've got to work out which one of the suggestions you were after (unless I'm completely wrong, *and* you're after something like Jore Hat Bangalow or Casablanca)..... [2]

[1] 2'6", 2'4¼", 2'4½", 15", 3', 3'6", 2'10", 3'6", 2' [nom] respectively - if I've remembered everything.

[2] 2' [dead], 1'11 5/8"

I suspect one of these will give us the answer.......

;) ;) ;)

Knowing Brian's locality it's likely to be Newlands Inn. I also thought of Welshpool Raven Square (ref. the Raven Inn next door).

Correct - though the pub's now in ruins following a fire in the semi-derelict pub last year, so the railway station name may eventually be the only reminder of my "local".

Now - who's gonna set the next one??
