Reconstruction of the upper loop of the ANLR
Yep the track is screwed in place, where shuttered concrete is the trackbed using rawlplugs whereas where the track is laid on thermolite concrete block the screw was screwed straight into the block, no rawlplug was needed, and no hole either

The platform has been cast for the upper station at Nant Llywyd, and has been checked to make sure Accucraft isle of Man coaches pass (which they do ), but only on the far side
The final roof section was mortard in place on the tunnel as well today, so me and dad need to think of how to finish off the ventalation shaft (it already looks good when a steam train passes beneath the hole!)

The ballast is 1:2 cement and sieved grano dust, laid dry and sprayed with water as the rest of my railway is. Oh, there is also a bit of sived ash (from Ravenglass loco shed ) in there in parts as well

Not so much bungled as bungle-related'ed! I have no idea what he is on about!
Cecil, what does steve have to do with my comments?
Anyhoo, to try and bring it back on topic as others are trying to drag me into totally bungling this thread, any new developments laalratty, or is trying to find a job taking up your time at the moment?

Trying to find a job left me so deppressed today I really couldn't be bothered to do much else than put down 2 pices of Peco set track in the quarry and put in the second station nameboard for Afallen (weekly signin for jobseekers means I can't attend a steamup tommorow. Annoyed, yep absolutely )

Well quite a while since I have posted any more about this, because really there hasn't been much to report. however things are moving again, including the start of the scenic side with the slate wall on the deviation
Also the tunnel works are nearing completetion, with soil being put back on the top, and the ventalation shaft is comming on, this is made from a length of plastic pipe that stuck to the paving slab roof using sealent. It will be faced with slate.
The large plank of wood will be the trackbed for an imitation incline, used in slate quarries to drop wagons from high level. The tunnel top will be covered in slate scree like it was before the start of the reconstruction works.
The ventalation shaft, which i can say already looks great when a steam loco goes underneath, will be really fun when it gets cold and the steam effects are better

And what do you mean by that? Do you mean the lump of slate, which the wall was made out of, which was one very large lump found on a footpath in Penrhyndeadraeth (spelt wrong I know )

Nice, why is it that it always seems to really come on in leaps and bounds when I'm not there to see it happen? I do love that ventilation shaft though. How are you going to amke sure that things don't fall down it?
