A Scrap Wagon

Post by Sir haydn » Thu Jul 21, 2011 8:03 pm

Not a wagon to carry scrap, but made of it.

The last few evenings I have been knocking this up. Its a model of a square bodied tanker. The tank is made from one of those little pastic draws out of an engineers draw set (used for storing nuts and bolts...) The frames are scrap wood, the filler is an old white metal casting of a lamp vent, which i have added a little hinge.
The wheels and axle guards are from stock and the brake lever is from a slaters kit that wasn't used.

All in all makes a nice simple wagon.

Made out of scrap? really? Looks like something you would buy off the shelf for a day light robbery price!

I like it, looks really good. It is all the extra 'bits' though that makes these things look good, and the not too perfect finish as well. Brilliant. Haven't made anything for a while got an urge to though... oo.. er..

very nice work, great finish on the paint. What're your plans for couplers/buffers?
