[Having had this shunter for some time Ive decided to bash it about a bit and modify it somewhat to 16mm proportions. Decided to go electric so purchased a Lima O gauge shunter for the power unit.
A very nice smooth running four wheel drive unit. This was easily transferred with some alterations to the chassis of the Ruston, a bit of axesaw and filing work nothing much.

I really like that I have one too which I'm starting to work on. Ordered a speed controller from Andel Models and starting work on cutting down the cab later today. Replacing the grill is a great idea, I had wondered about doing that too. I'm loosely basing mine on the TR's 'Alf' which looks very similar to the the big big train. A sound card and some lights also sound like excellent ideas too!
Looking forward to seeing some more progress
