Manual Speed Controller

Ive just acquired a manual speed controller with two switches a two way switch and a three way switch any idea how you wire this up at all to battery and motor?

It's really difficult to tell, especially looking at just the bottom of the circuit board - PM sent.

On the circuit board I have yellow and red on one side and black and brown on tother so I guess + and -

Probably, but input / output, series / parallel?? Thin ice, tread with caution.
What components are on the board? I can see a pot and a heatsink.

Two resistors and another its basically a rheostat that alters the resistance ie power output Some how it must switch poles to give forward and reverse

Nah, that's what one of the switches is for - one will be on/off, the other fwd/rev.
