A beautiful model - if only I had £1700 to spare! At least I'll be able to look longingly at it at Stoneleigh...
As a Fairbourne Railway member, it suddenly occurred to me that Roundhouse has now reproduced all but one of the prototypes modelled in 12.25" gauge by John Ellerton - Darjeeling B, L&B 2-6-2T, Russell and now this. We only need Beddgelert to complete the set!

I'm sure my mate has one of these already, not roundhouse but what then?? I know it was Leak & manifold tank but can't remember the details now. That Roundhouse one looks awesome though.
Tommy Dodd may have an ARS key but I have a TASS button & a Rope Ladder, just like pirates, except the TASS button bit.

your thinking the same as me!MuzTrem:51466 wrote:As a Fairbourne Railway member, it suddenly occurred to me that Roundhouse has now reproduced all but one of the prototypes modelled in 12.25" gauge by John Ellerton - Darjeeling B, L&B 2-6-2T, Russell and now this. just a shame the L&M model was useless
proudly flying in the face of convention
You really would have thought that they would have realised at the design stage that the cab was too small Some bits of the L&M bodywork are still knocking around at Fairbourne though; the headlamp is in the workshop and two of the cab windows were used for Sherpa's tender cab. And Russell regained the original L&M dome at her last overhaul...

I was really excited when I first heard that RH had added this model to their range.
When I actually saw the model I was somewhat disappointed , by the ugly chimney and chimney cap, which has ruined the good looks of the loco and an otherwise nice model. Perhaps it is just me, but IMHO they also ruined the Linda, Blanche & Charles models with the same chimney and nearly flat topped chimney cap which seems to unfortunately be a standard RH design.
