The website took a little while to come online, but it is now.

What wheels and bearings are needed to fit the frames and be the right size?

Hello Tony,

The side frames are recessed to accept Brandbright RSA28B 2mm brass bearings for use with RSA 30/0 wheels. These wheels are marginally under scale but acceptable (should be a scale 20 inch). Nigel Town is using them for his scratchbuilt SAR wagons also.
Mike Ousby has some SAR wagon kits under development and is looking at using Accucraft wheels. The side frames are fairly beefy so could be modified. They will need bearings though.

Regards,

Ian

Thank you! Just a thought, but it might be worth mentioning that on your web site.

The reason I envisage using the Accucraft wheel sets is because not only am I the original Accucraft service person having been with them since they started as Marches Models, but also because I am an Accucraft dealer. Their 25mm 32mm gauge three hole wheel set looks promising although the axle will probably need shortening.

I can produce suitable bearings using my Myford turret lathe.

The kit I have under development is the ,"B'" class bogie wagon as seen on the WHR. The initial version is of the conversion done by the WHR to carry bicycles and luggage.

I have some bogie sets on order with Ian and when I receive them I'll be able to work out the correct height and post some images.
Best

Mike Ousby
