My art

Post by Hancockshire » Sun Dec 26, 2010 6:39 pm

I love to draw (who doesn't) & I'm not ashamed. I've already filled one sketch book & I'm trying to fill the other. Here are two art pieces that were scanned in.

Image
Escort Going sideways
This is a Mk2 Ford Escort Mexico drifting in a damp car park. I really like this piece. It's a good turn out & it graces my sketch book with pride.

Image
How to make an entrance
This is a piece related to my Timelord character. We see CITT (Capri In Time Technology) jumping through a window. It is inspired from the opening from 'the Professionals' when the Ford Consul/Granada smashes through the window.

I hope to upload more pieces later on so expect more cars, sergals & anthromorphics. I am also working on an adaption for the Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time artwork

Some more art pieces. All of these are photographs of the actual drawings

Image
General Rain Silves
Leader of the clan Shigu on Vilous, she is probably the coolest character ever. She is a Northern Sergal who was abandoned due to her golden coloured eyes which are known to be cursed. Her methods for interrogation often involve children. She will either eat them like small prey or skin them alive in front of the child's parents, forcing the truth from them. She's often referred to as the Brutal General. She even wears enemy's blood as war paint

Image
Sergals rock
What? They do! This is a design for a car sticker I came up with for when I get my first car which will be a Mk1 Fiesta called the 'Mosh Mobile'. It shows a Northern Sergal playing an electric guitar (Epically I'd imagine)

My next two posts will have Capris in them

Of course. I have previously done car commissions for free before, in fact, I offer them. I'll see what I can do

One more as this bloomin' thing wont let me put up anymore with this capri drawing.

Image
Capri II S
This is a piece that shows a green Mk2 Capri 3 litre S. It's my first Capri 2 drawing & I'm very pleased with it. As it's very similar to the Mk3 (actually, the same except for bumpers & front end) it wasn't too difficult. I must say I'm very pleased with it.

Anyone can draw. It's just lines & shapes with some colour in it. That's all there is to it. Just don't give yourself high expectations when you start. I say the same to my brother when he's not going on to me about world of warcraft

No, never have. I discovered I could draw cars in the weirdest place. My English class when I drawn a car of my design running over one of my bullies. I then started drawing Escorts & Capris, crap at first but building to the quality you see now. All happened in this year!!! Shows how quickly I learn

Yet more art. These two feature CITT & (in the second picture) my Timelord character (The Saviour)

Image
CITT & his guns
To defend himself & his occupants, the Saviour had installed small disintegrators into the Capri's front over riders. I know it's a bit James Bond but come on, lasers are cool (CITT is a Capri Laser after all)

Image
The Saviour & CITT
Here are the Time travelling duo together. As you can see, the Saviour is based on me as I was going to make a live action episode set before his exile to earth. He uses an alternative to a sonic screwdriver called, a Sonic Hammer (which is in the Saviour's left hand). He wears a dark brown (close to black) leather look jacket with two cream stripes on each side, an Iron Maiden T-shirt, a Metallica necklace, designer jeans (mostly Ted Bakers) & all black Converse high tops (or black Nike trainers with white soles). Note how in this piece, CITT looks a lot finer than the piece of him jumping through a window further up the page.

By the way Pete, I've finished your 100E commission. Just needs to get scanned & it's all yours

Brilliant drawings, especially the first one you posted.

I wish I could draw like that now. Yonks ago when I was at school, art was my favourite subject, especially drawing and painting. It's years since I have drawn freehand or even done any painting, except for the house :(
I wish I could do it now, maybe it is time start practicing !

Best of luck. The rule I always use with my drawings is don't give yourself high expectations. Apart from that, do what you want. In school, they tell you not to use rulers. In art, there are no rules, do what you want, that's what I say

I used to quite like art at my old school, and i was quite successful in watercolour painting by using watercolour pencils (which is where you colour the area in with the pencil then go over with a wet paint brush, yes i know it's cheating! ) but then when i moved school i found that i much prefered photography, and i still love it today, and i also love editing photos as well. So it's just another thing i seem to have taken on from my late Grandfather, as well as the trains! :D

I have to say though those do look spot on!

Develop the skill!

I am a qualified (if that means anything anymore  ) Illustrator and grpahic designer, with awards in fine art and life drawing. Nice to have the skill but means squat all otherwise! No paying jobs in the art industry at the moment, I have hundreds of sketches and paintings. maybe they'll be worth millions when im gone

Maybe so. I might be the next Van Gogh. Apart from the ear chopping bit of course

You can't cheat in art, use the techniques you are comfortable with. Remember, there are no rules apart from enjoying it

I agree it's not cheating as it's the way I sketch too

Some more pieces

Image
Bruce the Sergal
A side profile of a Northern sergal that I've nicknamed Bruce

Image
CI5 Saviour
My Timelord character showing off his CI5 ID

Image
Jensen Interceptor - work in progress
This is a work in progress. In this piece we can see a Jensen Interceptor looking cool. In this piece I am going to add my Timelord character, a couple of Anthros, a Mustang & a race track

Image
RS2000 Pursuit
A classic pursuit, a Mk2 RS2000 X pack chasing a Mk2 Transit van. There are a couple of things I need to add but I'm happy with it so far

Image
RS2000 X-pack
My Timelord Character's CI5 car. I do like the X-pack models, the smart body kit & performance additions

Image
Somewhere in Time - work in progress
This is my adaption of the Iron Maiden artwork for the 1986 album Somewhere in Time. My Timelord character takes Eddie's place, while his Sergal son (Omega) & CITT take the band members' place. There is still a hell of a lot of detail to go through but compare it to the artwork that it's based on
Image

Image
The Professionals - Work in progress
This is a piece that I am making of my Timelord character & one of my furry pal's characters. His character is almost finished but the head is a bu99er to do. I thought I should call it the Professionals as both our characters work for agencies. My character works for CI5 & his character works for the ICA

Image
Triumph Spitfire
My drawing of a Triumph Spitfire & what a pleasure it was to draw. Due to it's sleek shape, this drawing doesn't have any perspective. It seems that it does

I will get more pieces up at a later date & they should be good
