A Hopper N' Skip

Post by Sir haydn » Wed Nov 03, 2010 12:44 pm

After working on a few locomotives I went back to the desk yesterday afternoon and built four of these! Will be outshopped in red oxide tomorrow.

That does look very nice indeed. Same question as Greg from me mate.
Tommy Dodd may have an ARS key but I have a TASS button & a Rope Ladder, just like pirates, except the TASS button bit.

they are brandbright ones. Bit of pigs as the whitemetal soldering isn't the easiest thing in the world. But all in all a good kit and very weighty! Correct axle box design for wider gauges too!

They look very good, do they have any more detail than the Binnie equivelent ?

Only slightly more dan. The big advantage is the weight! These are for a customer and are 45mm gauge and in this guise are alot more accurate. The 32mm gauge ones would sit comfortably next to the binnie ones without being too obvious. The only differences are the skip locking bars and the works plate.

Very nice - bit of a shame he didn't want 'em weathered, I bet the whitemetal would lend itself to a bit of "bashing" better than the plastic flavour ones :D
Correct axle box design for wider gauges too!
Already spotted that! (Wish Colin had designed alternative axle boxes to fit the 45mm gauge skip rather than just producing a wider chassis, but hey ho!)

They look splendid indeed. Had a look at the price though...Hmmm. eekk.

Then I noticed they do W&L cattle vans kits. I was going to try & scratchbodge some but think I will go for them now. Damn it Matt, need rail not stock!

:D :D
