16mm Standard Gauge

Has anyone tried experimenting with 16mm to the ft Standard Gauge?
I'm thinking of making a feeder siding for my line, and have been thinking about making my own track.
UK Standard Gauge is 4ft 8 1/2 inch, so (and my maths aint great) i have the gauge for 16mm scale as 75mm (or 76mm if you round it up to 4ft 9inch). Ive used the 16mm scale rule.
Does this seem right? And has anyone built a feeder like this before?
Gauge 3 is 63.5mm gauge, so i wanted to go a little bigger to fit in with 16mm.
I would appreciate any thoughts!
Cheers,
Rob
